4. Revolution II: Next the new Babylon, Tampa, has to be cast down and recreated. There is too much disregard for beauty in Tampa; humidity and entropy have gained too much power over the landscape. In the Apmat sculptural series from 2003, the discarded objects that populate the Tampa landscape transform. They become so consumed with mold and humidity that they begin moving towards one another to form new bathetic creations armed with urban spectacle and bling. In 2004 the Apmat installation, a dark organic depiction of the city at night, is created to memorialize Tampa. The city stands before the viewer encouraging interpersonal interaction through its familiar materials, miniaturized scale, multiple blinking lights and soft repetitive sounds.
