1. Revolution: The first stage of the Modification involves casting down the accepted order of Midwestern life. In the Preys’ Revolution series from 2000, a body of spray paint enhanced screen prints, the shift of power is reversed between humans and animals. Through genetic engineering gone amuck, a mangled two head cow with a human’s brain, The Oracle, gains psychic powers. It then uses these powers to beckon forward a trio of cows known as the Trinity. They communicate through a series of symbols that are incomprehensible to humans. Together they empower and unify the animal kingdom and engage in a series of battles that sweep across the Midwest. Humanity is eliminated and the balance of power is restored.
